Wine Wednesday!

le vin!

A light red from the Italian vinters, Michele Chiarlo.  This is a bottle of Barbera d’Asti, Le Orme, 2007.

My notes:

  • color: red grape
  • scent: mild, fresh
  • fruity taste with accents of berry and plum
  • tingling finish
  • light texture

From the winemaker:

“Colour: Ruby red with purple highlights.
Aroma: Elegant with fine intensity, hints of wild berries and mint leaves.
Taste: Dry, full-fruity and well structured.
DEVELOPMENT: It is already excellent after 2 years; the best vintages can age up to 7-8 years.
SERVING TEMPERATURE: 17° – 18° C (63°/ 65° F)
PAIRINGS: Pasta dishes served with red sauces; white and red meat.”
