Wine Wednesday!

WW- cabernet sauvignon

This week’s selection is a nice full-bodied Californian Cabernet Sauvignon.  It’s a 2008 J. Lohr Seven Oaks creation that sells for under $20 a bottle.  A great accompaniment to red meats, it is rich and luscious.

My notes:

  • dark cherry color
  • clean, smooth flavor- velvety
  • berry masks other flavors
  • slight acidic undertones in the aftertaste

And here is what the winemaker has to say about it:

“A bouyant red-purple color with bright hues. Generous aromas of black cherry, black currant and plum fruit, complemented by vanilla, tar and toasty notes from the twelve to fourteen months in barrel. On the palate, the fruit flavors echo the aroma, complexed with blackberry and a plump, softly texture mouthfeel and finish.”
