apple cinnamon oatmeal

apple cinnamon oatmealThe perfect breakfast for a chilly winter morning!  I love the flavors of winter and this oatmeal is a great blend of spice that will warm you up and fill your stomach.

to start, you will need:

  • 1 c. water
  • 1/4 c. apple sauce
  • 1 apple, cored and chopped
  • 2/3 c. oats
  • 1 t. cinnamon
  • a pinch of nutmeg
  • 1/4 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. of milk

Begin by combining the water, applesauce, and apple pieces in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat.  Bring to a boil.  Stir in the oats, spices, and sugar.  Return to a boil then reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 5 minutes, until thick.  Divide into bowls and add milk to your desired consistency.  Quick, easy, and delicious!
